Data center infrastructure management (DCIM) is a tool to monitor, measure, manage and/or control data center resources and energy consumption of facilities infrastructure components such as power distribution units and computer room air conditioners. It is a data-center-specific, rather than general building management system tool, and is used to optimize data center power, cooling and physical space. The solution is going to design to accommodate real-time power and temperature/environmental monitoring. It also support resource management and IT asset management to include the location and interrelationships between assets.
